Seetarama was a poor villager. He used to sell fruits in market and lived with his wife Nagamba. Once when he was returning home, on the way in the forest suddenly he felt his basket became heavy. He found Forest Goddess wanted to ride on his shoulders and blessed him with a boon. But he asked for a basket full of mango fruits. His wife unhappy with his act fired him and what happened next why the forest goddess cursed him, how it turned to his favor is the story.

Govinda is a shepherd and was married to Poornima. Poornima sells curd and milk to run the household. Her husband Govinda takes care of the cows. One day when he took the cows to forest for grassing, suddenly rain came. There in the forest used to be a Saint always found in Meditation. Because of heavy rain, the saint's hut was shattered and Govinda helped him to recover. For the hospitality extended by Govinda the Saint gave three boons. How he used it and why the saint wondered about the usage of the boon is the story.
